Step started out as a series of workshops and small gatherings, and over 11 years has grown to become the largest tech festival in Dubai. With 6 main tracks, more than 400 global startups showcasing, hundreds of global investors, and 8000+ global attendees over two days, Step brings the tech world to Dubai.

Sriram Krishnan is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz where he invests in early stage consumer startups. Today, Sriram serves on the board of Hopin. Prior to joining a16z, Sriram held numerous senior product roles. Most recently, he led core consumer teams at Twitter where he was responsible for products including the home timeline, new user experience, search, discovery, and audience growth. Before this, Sriram created and oversaw various mobile ad products for both Snap and Facebook, including Snap’s Direct Response ads business and the Facebook Audience Network, one of the largest networks in display advertising. Sriram started his career at Microsoft where he touched numerous projects related to Windows Azure.

Courtney Powell is the COO of 500 Startups. Courtney is tasked with helping 500 scale globally and explore new opportunities across both new and existing markets. She is responsible for driving day-to-day operations across the team to pursue 500’s mission. Courtney was co-founder and CEO of PublikDemand in Batch 4 of 500’s Seed Accelerator. She went on to become CEO of Agent Pronto, one of the largest real estate agent referral services in North America, which was acquired by Fidelity National Title Group. Most recently, Courtney was the Head of Corporate Development at Keller Williams, the largest real estate franchise in the world, with over 170,000 agents doing more than $330 billion dollars in gross sales volume during 2018 alone. During her tenure, she established the company’s first corporate innovation program and worked with Keller Capital to invest and acquire tech companies in the real estate space. Courtney also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the SXSW International Interactive, Film, and Music Festival since 2016, became a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council in 2017 and is a contributing author for Forbes and the Huffington Post. Courtney received the Twilio Doer Award in 2013, was named to the Forbes Top 30 Under 30 CEOs in 2014, and became a Google Business Leader in 2015. Courtney attended the University of Texas at Austin and studied French Language and Corporate Communication.

After eight months, he left school and founded Brex, which raised $215M in funding across three rounds in its first 18 months and was the fastest U.S. business-to-business company to be valued at over $1bn.

Sidra Qasim is a co-founder of Atoms, a Brooklyn based brand that makes the ideal everyday shoes and masks. At Atoms, Sidra leads the brand’s product development and operations. Prior to that, Qasim co-founded Markhor, a Y Combinator startup that worked with indigenous craftsmen in Pakistan to make high-end leather products. In response to the COVID-19, Sidra led the Atoms Mask project, designing and developing what WSJ said is the “Best Materials Mask” and donating half a million in the US. The popular blog Humans of New York did an in depth story on Sidra’s personal journey of growing up in rural Pakistan and building her startups. Originally from Okara, Sidra now lives in New York City.

He was named to AdAge’s 40 Under 40, and was listed as one of the top 100 people in influencer marketing by Influence Directory. At BEN, Ricky Ray loves helping brands increase engagement, establish product credibility and build active brand advocate communities through the power of product integration. Under his leadership, BEN became the first entertainment company to leverage deep learning neural networks that are backed with four decades of proprietary campaign data for client successes. Rather than simply matching brands with content opportunities, BEN’s AI – now core to the company’s business model – has been trained to provide its clients with predictive analytics that drive actual campaign results. Prior to joining BEN, Ricky Ray founded Plaid Social Labs, a social media creator and influencer product integration company, which was acquired by BEN in 2015. Ricky was one of the earliest entrepreneurs in the influencer space, representing brands and helping them partner with content creators to reach relevant audiences. Ricky Ray and his wife, Dascia, are dedicated to supporting their local community through working with charities such as The Lighthouse via Ventura County Rescue Mission.
